Thanks for the responses everyone.

I haven't yet been burned too hard by the stock market. I did buy Wal-Mart a few days before it swung down into a 2+ year long slump, but it's recovered quite nicely since.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm in for the long haul. I'll continue to lurk around the board for the odd bit of news or gossip.

I'll have to dig up a Physics Today that I saw recently about the future of computing and the phasing out of silicon etching based processes. It's amazing how soon some fundamental physical barriers are going to be reached. If memory serves, the first hurdle is that eventually, gates will need to be triggered by less than one electron.

I'll read up. Just looking a bit too long term, as always.
