FYI...EASTMAN KODAK: SonoSite 180 hand-carried Ultrasound System to support the Kodak 1200 Distributed Medical Imager
<<JAN 31, 2000, M2 Communications - BOTHELL, WA, and ROCHESTER, NY -- SonoSite, Inc. (Nasdaq: SONO) and Eastman Kodak Company today announced that SonoSite's hand-carried SonoSite 180 Ultrasound System will support the Kodak 1200 Distributed Medical Imager for reference applications.
The Kodak 1200 Imager is a small desktop printer that allows users to print high-resolution referral images and reports from anywhere in a health care enterprise.
The Kodak 1200 Distributed Medical Imager accepts medical paper or film up to 8.5 x 11 inches. It incorporates Kodak's patented image processing software that enhances edge definition and brings out subtle shades of color or gray. The printer can be used for routine business printing as well as the output of referral images.
"This agreement with Kodak gives us an affordable, high-quality print solution which matches well with the benefits of our SonoSite 180 System--exceptional image quality at a low cost, which is unprecedented in an all-digital system that weighs only 5.4 pounds," said Kevin M. Goodwin, president and CEO of SonoSite. "Initially, images from our system will be acquired and formatted for the Kodak 1200 Printer through the use of a Kodak spooler. By mid-2000 we expect to launch a full connectivity package for the SonoSite 180 System, including a PC-based connection to the Kodak 1200 Printer." The Health Imaging Division of Eastman Kodak Company develops, manufactures and markets products for the capture, processing, presentation, distribution and printing of health-related images.
Kodak's Health Imaging business, with annual revenues of $2 billion, has been serving the needs of the healthcare industry for over 100 years. For more information, contact 1-877-865-6325, Ext. 364, in the United States or visit the Kodak website at kodak.com >> |
