blrmkr: thanks for your great post...just one more small detail to check with you: Because of the shorter "latency" of Intel flash, may we deduce that therefore Intel flash is preferentially going into cell phones and routers, where speed IS important? Thanks again, p.s. what exactly did Intel sell to Centennial? Perhaps it was just the PCMICA business, a small part of which included flash? Gary
