Glad to hear it. It's called scaling the brand.

William,

It is called hype. You and I both know that this is a cumulative customer list that now ranges over five years. A good part of that are people that are counted twice due to differenct charge cards. Many are a one time buyer than never returned and many are now dead. The number that counts is active customers within the last twelve months because that is all that is typically counted in retailing. Wal-mart, Sears, Penneys can give you those numbers for their respective operations.

Also, Amazon has counted in that number anyone that has ever bid on an auction yet they may have never made a purchase from Amazon itself.

My guess at active customers is 8.3 million.
