The shear hosting these values is 20-40 m thick extends for many km, is poorly explored to unexplored, and is in a similar geological setting to the Campbell shear at the nearby Con Mine. Campbell is the biggest single producing Zone in YK with 4,000,000 oz reconciled production. Both the Campbell and Mosher Lake Gold Island Zones are at a contact between volcanics to the west and sediments to the east, near the greenschist-amphibolite isograd.
Although I am an insider with Firesteel I am sincere in my enthusiasm for this property, any believe the multiple intersections of ore grade gold, many over mining thickneses, will be recognized for what they are. These types of results should support a major exploration drive over the next 12-24 months, as they can be compared favourably to results at other advanced gold prospects in the Yellowknife greenstone belt such as GMD Ormseby-Discovery, Nicholas Lake, Miramar Con Shear, and Treminco Ptarmigan. Historically, the market has rewarded Companies producing these types of results with significant support for extended exploration programs, and I believe the same will happen in this case. |
