Greetings Steve , and all who love the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your reply Steve. To save space and time I will say that we are in agreement with Steps 1 and Step 2. It is Step 3, where we part ways my friend. Allow me to walk with you through what you stated, waiting then for you to respond back to me. This way we can stay on track more easily.
You stated;
<< If God looked ahead on our lives and saw what decision we will make in the future,to believe or not believe, would "we" have done anything or acted yet? Did we do anything that could have saved ourselves? Absolutely not! We were not alive to have made the decision. It was just God's ability to forsee the future that is in play here....We were not alive... God's foreknowledge of us has nothing to do with our actions.It only has to do with Gods ability. It is his ability to be all knowing and seeing into the future which will allow him to see our upcoming decision, even one that has not been made yet, that will be made in the future. >>
Steve, please consider what you are saying in this verse. Yes, God would know what decision we would make, however, that that is not the fatal flaw with your reasoning. This decision we would make would be based on the life we received at birth. This is the fatal flaw. All born from Adam are DEAD.........end of story. Indeed Almighty God is Omniscient and trancends time as we understand it, but this decision we would make would originate from our fallen, hostile nature and as I have stated previously, we in ourselves would never seek a Holy God. Quite the opposite is true, we run and hide just like our forefather Adam. We make this decision, as you call it, in TIME.....that is when we are born, based on a " fallen nature". Of course we were not alive to make the decision, God chose us in Christ totally independent of ourselves, out of His Good pleasure. This decision you think we made, although we were not yet born, is still based on the life we inherited from Adam, thus it is fatally flawed. What ever decision you think we would have made, even though not yet born, would still be doomed as it originates from Adam. I'll stop here Steve before I address the last part of your reply, and await your response. It is God who is the Eternal Creator and transcends all time. We are His creation limited in time and space. I don't think you are hearing what has been said in previous posts my brother. Hope you understand what I am attempting to say here. May the Spirit of the Living God cause His Children to hear His Word and understand the unsearchable riches in Christ.
In Christ, Robert |
