Article in Business Week's Technology and You section this week by an ill-informed author, Stephen Wildstrom. Did any of you see it? The article is referenced below, including the URL. I sent the following email to both email links on the Valence-Technology web site (Sales and FRB). Hopefully, someone will pick up this ball and run with it.

As I am primarily a regular lurker and not as knowledgeable as many long time investors on this site, I included this information, hoping that someone here might also respond to Business Week with the succinct facts about VLNC. If any of you have any other email addresses for Valence Tech that you think I should send this to, please send them to me via PM.

Thanks to all here. Wish I could join some of you in Henderson next week, but can't get away. Have a great meeting.

Peter

Sir,

I am an investor in VLNC and have followed it closely over the past two years. This week Business Week Magazine (Feb 7, 2000) page 22 in print addition and also available at this URL:

businessweek.com

...printed an article in the Technology and You section by Stephen H. Wildstrom titled:

"Laptops Catch Up To Desktops"

The larger type introduction sentences in the print version says: "Intel is turning them into speed demons. How about boosting battery life?"

The final paragraph reads: "Personally, I would love it if some of the engineering genius devoted to producing faster machines without sacrificing battery life went into making slower notebooks that run longer. But speed sells, and the power of these new notebooks should make the desktop-replacement idea a lot more attractive."

There is no mention of battery types or manufacturers in the article and no mention of Valence or lithium polymer.

I BELIEVE THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY RIGHT BEFORE THE ANNUAL SHARE HOLDER'S MEETING FOR LEV OR SOMEONE OFFICIAL AT VALENCE TO RESPOND TO BUSINESS WEEK AND THIS AUTHOR TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT AND MAYBE GET SOME EXCELLENT P.R.

1. A short but succinct "letter to the editor" type response might appear in the next issue or two in the Business Week section titled "Readers Report"

The following comes from the How to Reach Business Week info for the LETTERS FOR READERS REPORT: "All letters must include an address and daytime and evening phone numbers. We reserve the right to edit letters for clarity and space and to use them in all electronic and print additions.
Mail to: Business Week, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, 43rd Floor, New York, NY 10020
FAX: (212) 512-6458
Internet: bwreader@businessweek.com
America Online: readersbw

2. The same response in addition to additional resources and information should be sent to the author at the above mailing address and the following Email: tech&you@businessweek.com
Perhaps follow-up and detailed information would result in an upcoming article on Valence's battery technology!!!

COULD YOU PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO LEV OR ANY ONE ELSE IN THE VALENCE FAMILY WHO MIGHT RESPOND PROMPTLY TO THIS ARTICLE FOR THE EXCELLENT CHANCE TO GET VALENCE'S NAME IN PRINT AGAIN!!!

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
P. Ogren, Investor
