Chief, it's only illegal when two or more conspire to present the image of a wall, right? .. i hope it's legal for non-insider individuals, because i do it all the time, lol .. for instance with Jordex most days last summer i would have 2 or 3k on the bid just below inside bid, and at the same time 7.3 or 11.7k [always an odd number, lol] on the offer three or four levels above inside offer ... i had no intention of selling, the offer was just there to encourage bid-whacking, and the only time i lost significant shares i got them back the same day cheaper ... it's just part of the game and quite legal imho, hope so anyway because i'm doing it right now on a thinly-traded Toronto stock, lol ... as an individual small-time punter i'm sure it's ok, and it seems to work well on the thin ones while they're in sleepytime.

I learned not to do the opposite of this, i.e. support the bid when i wanted to sell, after getting filled one time with a truckload of wallpaper, lol .... Not watching Rock, i'm in hold mode there, looks like it's forming a base for the next move ... and yes, i have no doubt that legal or not the houses conspire to run boxes, it's so obvious sometimes ... CC was running one on qbx until yesterday, imho ... cheers
