Manugistics NetWORKS(TM) Solutions to Enhance European-Wide
Transportation and Distribution Network
ROCKVILLE, Md., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Manugistics Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANU), the leading provider of eBusiness solutions that enable intelligent decisions across trading networks, today announced that Philips Lighting BV will enhance its European-wide transportation network using Manugistics NetWORKS(TM) solutions. Philips expects Manugistics' eBusiness solutions will enable the company to lower transportation costs, decrease delivery times and improve customer service.

More than 100 third party logistics (3PL) partners distribute their products through a highly sophisticated distribution network to reach their European clients. Manugistics NetWORKS solutions will allow Philips to tender each distribution contract across the Internet to its 3PL partners in real time. This will then enable the most suitably placed 3PL to distribute Philips' products anywhere in Europe.
Using Manugistics NetWORKS Transport(TM) Web-enabled track and trace capability, Philips will also be able to see where each product is at all times. This fully integrated solution allows transportation and distribution plans to be optimized while it simultaneously executes inbound and outbound transportation operations.
