I have watched the discussion of flags and tools and boxes with great interest, but my mind didn't tarry too long on the crisp invigorating scent (pun tang?) of the carnal-verbal possibilities. No, the image that consumes me is that a flag draped over a toolbox has an elegiac air about it, like those vignetted "remembrance" portraits sold on genuine porcelain through the stiff pages of TV Guide whenever Veterans' Day or Memorial Day rolls around.

If it were MY toolbox that were flagged, I'd interpret that as an act of condolence for my poor deceased implements. Like I got all these nice fancy things, and at full retail cuz men NEVER wait for the ******* sale, and now I'm not even FIXING anything.

But I'm sure that is all a hallucinatory fabrication, between me and my cough syrup.
