China Continental, Inc. (OTCBB: CHCL: .96)
Here is another China stock! According to Yahoo, China Continental has $53 million in cash and a book value of $2.02. Why is the stock trading under $1? Could this be the next China superstock? Here is the story:
China Continental, Inc. designs, installs and sells plastic production lines on a turnkey basis; sells machinery and equipment for the manufacture of plastic products; and imports and resells raw materials. The major portion of sales are to plastic manufacturers in the People's Republic of China. The Company markets fully automated production lines to plastic product manufacturers in the PRC on a turnkey basis.
These turnkey projects require the provision of services from the design of the engineering configuration of the production lines to the supply and installation of the machinery and equipment. Sale of machinery and equipment, accessories, spare parts, raw materials and steel are conducted in conjunction with the sales of turn-key plastic production lines. China Continental has also embarked on a livestock and genetic engineering joint venture that entails the importation of Boer goat embryos, through TeMania International Limited, for implanting into local recipients.
According to Yahoo, the nine months ended 9/30/99, revenues decreased 5% to $30.4 million. Net income decreased 4% to $13.5 million. Revenues suffered from decreased sales of raw materials. Earnings were partially offset by the decreased sales of lower margin raw materials.
News was announced a couple of days ago that CHCL is currently in discussions for Dairy projects valued at $1 billion. Here is a link to the latest news:
