Ken, before Amazon runs out of money, they have to invest in 5% of ADBL <ggggg>. Deal values shares at just under $15 each. AMZN could've bought the share cheaper on the open market today. Earnings weren't bad either. Another conference call scheduled for after market tomorrow. ADBL has doubled since we first spotted it. Co. is hitting its stride making all the right deals and connections.
<Under the investment arrangement, Seattle-based Amazon will buy 1.34 million shares, or 5%, of Audible common stock at $14.93 apiece. Audible said Amazon won't receive a seat on the company's board. Audible said it expects to begin offering its products on Amazon's Web site in the second half of this year.
Separately, Audible said its fourth-quarter net loss widened to $5.4 million, or 21 cents a share, from the year-earlier loss of $2.9 million, or 40 cents a share. Excluding a one-time charge of $731,663 related to employee stock options, the loss came to 18 cents a share, four cents ahead of an analysts' consensus estimate as tallied by First Call/Thomson Financial. Revenue soared to $420,263 from $95,950. The figures for the latest quarter reflect an increase in the number of shares, as a result of its initial public stock offering in July.>
