CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 2000--NetManage Inc. NETM , a leading supplier of eBusiness access and application integration solutions, today announces it is partnering with Microsoft Corporation MSFT to produce a version of the NetManage OnWeb eBusiness Integrator Application Server to run on Microsoft's SNA Server successor, codenamed "Babylon."
The two companies will work together to enhance NetManage OnWeb eBusiness Integrator, as well as enhance Babylon's functionality, particularly in the area of UNIX connectivity.

NetManage will utilize the Babylon SDK environment to produce a new product that will
allow customers to quickly develop and deploy new server-based eBusiness applications
that leverage existing mainframe host applications and data. The NetManage product,
which will run on top of Babylon, will allow applications-from straightforward Web
publishing to full multi-source application integration-to easily be completed based on
standard Microsoft WinDNA 2000 technology.

NetManage will launch the new product to coincide with the availability of the Babylon.
NetManage will also provide systems integration and professional services around the new
platform and product set to help customers and partners effectively implement new
applications.

Chris Olson, group product manager for Microsoft, said, "We are pleased to have
NetManage as a partner to deliver full solutions to our customers. NetManage is a key
player in the host access and application integration and eBusiness markets, and their
involvement will optimize our customers' deployment of Babylon."

Zvi Alon, president and CEO of NetManage commented, "We have worked with Microsoft
for some time, and this agreement and collaboration reinforces the strength of the
combination of our products. NetManage has made great strides to evolve towards being a
major supplier of eBusiness and application integration solutions and this agreement
marks a milestone in that progress. NetManage will deliver one of the strongest product
sets available based on this new Microsoft platform."

NetManage will utilize the Babylon SDKs developed by Microsoft to host a version of its
market leading OnWeb eBusiness Integrator Application Server and OnWeb eBusiness
Designer graphical development environment. The resulting combined product will give
customers the ability to develop applications based on existing enterprise data that can,
for example, address supply and demand chain eBusiness requirements, thereby allowing
corporations to link with their business partners and customers.

Based on NetManage's currently shipping Salvo product, now at Version 4, OnWeb
eBusiness Integrator is a mature product that will support thousands of users in a secure
and manageable way. More than 150 major corporations worldwide, from manufacturing to
finance and service companies, have used NetManage Integration Server and Development
Environment technology to deploy new eBusiness and eCommerce applications based on
their existing host-centric applications and data.
