Hi Scott!

<<It *is* great to see press releases ... if only they would keep the stream going!>>

In some respects I agree, but more so with Paul's mention of "earnings" stream being what will take Novell to the higher $50-70 dollar level. Nonetheless, these announcements are not just "fluff" but have some real forward-looking backbone for future earnings.

<<It seems that there *is* some relationship to Novell's stock price and the number of press releases ... and then in the "lull" periods the price slips back ...>>

Yes, and no. There were very good press releases out in the fall, but WS was also concerned with the marketing issues and the stock got clobbered. Good press kept coming out, nice Comdex news etc, but we were fighting a perception tide. It appears that we've healed those wounds, and even non-Novell released news helped us tremendously (e.g. Gilder telecosm pick). =;-)

<<If only they would keep this going ...>>

I'm sure they will. I sense a lot of strong momentum building, and hope it doesn't peak, then fall after Brainshare. I'd like to see Novell move like a rabbit, but with a tortoise's endurance. Eric seemed to emphasize that during his Fox business line interview a few months back.

<<My guess is that we'll see it pick up between now and Brainshare ... the end of March ... and hopefully there are going to be some more good releases!>>

I have to agree with you there, and earnings, with strong revenue forecasts would clinch the deal too. =;-)

Good hearing from ya! QuadK
