These guys aren't budging off of square one when it comes to even considering digital baseband, much less mention it in an article such as the one you posted, are they?

With all of their futurizing, they don't even mention digital baseband. Instead, they dig themselves deeper into the bowels of analog, by "future proofing" themselves by designing in fewer analog amplifiers.

I find it truly unbelievable sometimes. That is, until I stop to think of all of the vested interests at play. And then I find it quite believable.

Tell me, Are the folks in Cable Labs even investigating digital at this time?

For those lurkers who may be looking in here for the first time, I'm not referring to digital in the sense of QAM encoded digital over analog RF carrier. Instead, I'm referring to straight digital baseband signaling.
