Well it's time for me to give all you fanatic longs more reason to hate me... or call me an idiot or whatever. ;)

It seems the more I look into it, the more the strategic relationships EDIG has made, like with LU and IBM could be kinda one sided.

In other words, the bell labs mention of e.digital seems to be along the lines of: "Here is a company that has signed on to EPAC early" as opposed to "here is our strategic partner who we are working with to take the audio market by storm"
bell-labs.com

So EDIG adopts EPAC early, and LU gladly mentions them on their website... does this really constitute a big money making relationship with a large company?

I find the recent IBM link to be similar frankly.
bell-labs.com
I interpret this as a way for IBM to show the world their microdrive playing back MP3 audio on the first device to support it. This is GREAT PR for EDIG, but is it really a groundbreaking business relationship? I mean IBM might have shown OS2 running on a Compaq one year at a trade show... great pr for Compaq, but not a significant business relationship.

I have made the mistake personally in the past of reading more into news press, and PR copy than I should. You know.. connecting the dots and reading between the lines.

'Reading between the lines' can be insight at one level, and fantasy at another.

I remember watching people get excited here on SI over a penny stock SFAD. This was fairly recent, although SFAD has been around for quite a while. SFAD released press talking about a strategic alliance with Amazon.. Heh, as it turned out they had become an Amazon associate.. you know they set up a web page with links to sell a few books via Amazon. A 13 year old could do this. And the investors got swindled again.

*****BEFORE YOU HIT REPLY***** ;)
I think EDIG is FAR more legitimate than SFAD... I was only using an example of how PR can be misunderstood... in this case it was an obvious attempt at deception. I am not accusing EDIG of that.

One difference here is that these press releases have come from the big shots, and mention EDIG. That is significant.

But, I still have this sneaking feeling that we here on these stock boards may be reading more into it than is really there.

regards,
cAPSLOCK (ducking for cover)
