Joe - Re: "they used the built in graphics chip, which probably means it can't be disabled. Do you know anything about that?"

That is correct - the i810e uses the internal graphics engine - and there is no external AGP port.

The upcoming Solano-2 (i815) will allow use of its internal graphics engine or an external AGP 4X card - but that is still a few months away, I think.

Selected models include 10/100 Network Interface Cards (NICs) to enable easier deployment into networked environments. Operating system options are Windows 95/98 or Windows NT. Windows 95/98 models allow customers to choose either operating system at initial set-up. Models with Windows NT are eligible for the Compaq Windows 2000 Professional Upgrade Program. For more details on this program refer to compaq.com.

Prices begin at $989 with V500 15-inch monitor (13.7-inch viewable). The new Deskpro EP Series models will be available beginning in February.
