ERICSSON SHARES SURGE ON QUALCOMM DEAL Wednesday February 2, 6:35 am Eastern Time Ericsson shares surge seven pct on Qualcomm deal STOCKHOLM, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Shares in Swedish telecoms group Ericsson surged seven percent on Wednesday after rallying on Tuesday, boosted after U.S. mobile phone technology company Qualcomm (NasdaqNM:QCOM - news) said it was jointly developing a wireless appliance system. By 1125 GMT Ericsson shares were 7.4 percent higher at 710 crowns, off an earlier record of 714 crowns in a bullish market. ``Ericsson's gaining on the Qualcomm news. They're developing wireless systems with Qualcomm,' one broker said. ``Generally Ericsson's got the wind in its back, with foreigners weighing into Ericsson. There's a lot of hype in the sector at the moment. A lot is happening.'
