JBKELLE: speaking of solar cells, I just read the news
story on EMKR's new solar cell production. Running 24/7,
sounds like a great problem to have. I also read a New
York Times article about a company called Color Kinetics.
The company guy, Lepselter, talked about what sounded like
Silicon based LEDs, and it was suggested they had been able
to "get the light out" of a silicon device. I thought that
you needed compound semiconductors (GaN, SiC) to get the
electron bandgaps that would allow light emission. Do you
have knowledge of this issue? If silicon based LEDs were
feasible it could compete with EMKR's process.
