To operate in Columbia and other South American Countries, you have to:

1. Own your own army to protect your investment,

2. Build an infrastructure through either mountains or jungles after you find a commercial field,

3. Continue to rebuild the infrastructure after it is built as it is destroyed over and over again by one of several rebel group,

4. Give up 50% of your investment to the Columbian oil company if it is commercial,

5. Pay up to 70% taxes on the 50% you get to keep.

6. Build roads and schools to keep the locals happy.

Amoco tried..........they are now BP/Amoco after writing off Billions on one field that never produced a single MCF (Opon field)
