Everyone wants to bring down the "big dog"!
This is a cash cow business for VISX if they can hold on to the royalties. The coming judgements from the Patent Office and the ICC will tell the story.
LASE wants a free ride into the industry just like Nidek.
They all claim their technology is unique.
The legal tests had to be anticipated by VISX. This royalty ability is what makes VISX unique from other laser manufacturers. I still believe just making machines is not enough to survive -- well --, given the competition.
If the judgements go in VISX's favor, it will seal the market for them for some time.
