OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 2000--Corel Corporation today unveiled the much-anticipated pricing and product details for its upcoming WordPerfect(r) Office 2000 for Linux(r). Scheduled to be widely available across North America this spring, WordPerfect Office 2000 for Linux will be offered in two versions - Standard and Deluxe. WordPerfect Office 2000 for Linux - Standard version will sell for a suggested retails price of US $109* or CAN $149*. WordPerfect Office 2000 for Linux - Deluxe version will be available for a suggested retail price of US $159* or CAN $249*.

WordPerfect Office 2000 for Linux is a comprehensive office productivity suite for Linux users who are seeking a powerful and compatible solution at an excellent value. This fully functional office suite offers users the same applications and excellent import/export capabilities as offered in the rest of the WordPerfect line. Applications included in the suite are: Corel(r) LINUX(r) OS (based on Debian 2.2 Kernel), WordPerfect(r) 9, Quattro(r) Pro 9, Corel Presentations(tm) 9 and CorelCENTRAL(tm) 9.
In addition to these applications, WordPerfect Office 2000 for Linux - Deluxe version also offers Paradox(r) 9, enhanced technical support, an entertainment pack (Railroad Tycoon Limited Edition** and demo games by Loki Games)and a Linux Penguin bean-filled toy.
Both the Standard and Deluxe versions of the suite are compatible with the Windows(r) version of WordPerfect Office 2000, and will install on most major Linux distributions, including Corel LINUX OS.
In conjunction with the unveiling of WordPerfect Office 2000 for Linux, Corel launched its newest Web site, opensource.corel.com. The purpose of this site is to bring the development community together and to provide visitors with more detailed information about Corel's Open Source initiatives. The site allows developers to access source code and serves as a discussion forum through mailing lists.
