Top 25 of 2000 Potfolio Update (Monthly): Our top 25 portfolio started the year with a bang, but has since been hurt by the current "stealth" bear market in many of last year's favorite names. Some of the trends that were thought to have continued this year have not been main themes. One example is the Business to Business sector. "Must have" B2B plays like ARBA and ICGE have been among the portfolios worst performers. Our goals for the beginning of the year were several fold: 1) Beat the higher of the Nasdaq 100 or S&P 500 index returns. 2) Score in the top 10% of equity mutual fund managers. Our rules were the following: 1) We bought into $10,000 for each stock. 2) Buys and sells of stocks occur at the end of the quarter, so any hot picks you have should be submitted by the middle of the last month of the quarter (believe me, changes will be made). So here are the results as of 2/2/00: Top 25 Portfolio up 1.0%. Largest Gainers: AETH (79.6%); DSLN (35.1%); RCNC (26.6%). Biggest Losers: ASDS (-43.1%); ICGE (-39.5%); CKFR (-34.7%). Top 25 up 1.0% vs. Nasdaq 100: -2.1% S&P500: -3.2% Munder Net Net Fund: -1.0% Internet Fund.Com: -2.1% Once again, to view the portfolio names, please click the links in the introduction to the thread.
