Yes I had read that Golden Sextant article and agree with its basic thrust. I would add though that another key weapon in the war on gold has been the ability of the Treasury and Fed to pressure the CBs of nations heavily dependent on the US to sell or lease their gold reserves. Kuwait's decision to put its gold up for lease is a classic illustration. And I'm sure this is just the tip of the iceberg
