true...that's why i keep on saying that the high volatility is a warning sign. one thing i'm wondering about is whether the manipulation of the market is sophisticated enough to stop a BK from happening...i'm also wondering what could eventually trigger one. as far as i can remember Japan BK'd without an exogenous trigger. sure, rates had gone up, but that didn't stop their bubble in '88 and '89. later on people blamed the collapse on rates, but obviously something else was at work as well. sudden shifts in psychology remain largely inexplicable.
