SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- Vitesse Semiconductor Chief Executive Officer Lou Tomasetta said that the combination of processors and switchboards will be the biggest growth area in 2001 and 2002. Through that combination, he said the company expects to see between $50 million and $150 million in incremental revenue in 2001 and potentially $200 million in incremental revenue in 2002. He said he sees overall first-quarter revenue growth at 50 percent and communications revenue growth at 60 percent. He added that communications sales growth should accelerate by the end of the fiscal year as the first of Vitesse's (VTSS) switch designs go into production. The company also sees gross margins at 65 percent by the end of this fiscal year moving toward the high 60s by the end of 2001.
