Ahhhh the hidden agenda. On a more serious note though,
To realize the full potential of computers, there needs to be a new applications coming out which will benefit people (monetary & entertaining).
In order to enable this to happen we need to provide the environment as soon as possible. e.g. get the OS on the latest hardware, make application development easy (open source enhances it).
To borrow TONY's word Microslow was not only late with the product (OS), it keeps on dragging its feet. Not to mention about the company specific formats and hard to integrate applications environment.

Now with LINUX they better show up or they will be too late like windows CE.
