Tom,
To tell you the truth, I am not quite bullish on semis in the very short term. Bad news keeps coming in day after day.
Cirrus Logic, Alliance Semiconductor, Silicon Graphics, and Vtel get in the spotlight with bad news, then are being taken out and shot in cold blood. This is not an encourging pattern. I am happy that Intel did not get the boot today because of its connections with Vtel.
CATS is on my nerves. Trading has slowed, the stock is down a lot but not quite enough for me to cut it off yet. I will wait for earnings. Its competitor Xicor, in which I have a stake too, is expected to post a nice gain soon, and I hope the same is valid for CATS too.
Long term - no question, I am bullish on technology, and will not buy hamburgers, cola or paper stocks. There is no change in fundamendals with our holdings, but changes in valuations; and we'll have to ride this cycle out. |
