As I said, I think they have a 50-50 chance of recovery. So far only the inevitable bad results of the merger have happened. The potential good results will take longer to happen, if they survive long enough. Sales could increase as the euopean sales reps push PMAT etchers and as the american/asian sales reps push flowfill and forcefill. I haven't studied the financials thoroughly yet, but a breakeven point of 26-28m/quarter is not impossible, and sales at that level would seem to be reachable in the second half of 1997.

Another possibility is a buyout. NVLS comes to mind. They have plenty of cash and excellent management. Also PMAT's strength in etch would be interesting to them, I would think, and they might also be interested in flowfill/forcefill. With the stock price this low, and if they see the possibiity of failure, management might accept a buyout at say $10-14. What do you think?

I really can't comment on flowfill/forcefill, but I note that Hyundai is pushing for 64Mbit chips using PMAT etchers. Also Dallas Semiconductor, which bought several PMAT etchers to use at .5/.6u has been one of the few bright spots in the semi industry lately, so perhaps their success was in part due to better than expected yields.
