hardocp.com This is in from our source in Zimbabwe:
4. Willamette and Foster speed up to 1.4GHz at introduction (was 1.1G and 1.2G).

1.4 GHz at introduction would mean:
1.7 GHz average process yield
1.8 GHz / 1.9 GHz overclocked versions
2.5 GHz Kryo cooled with "breakdown supply voltage" versions

It would mean doubling the number of pipeline stages compared to the PIII (12=>24) plus significant process improvements over the latest 0.18 micron process. Doubling the pipeline stages and improving the Instructions per Cycle by 5%....??!!!

They would do a fantastic job if they can get it to 1.4 GHz with a copper 0.13 micron process in H2 2001.

Hans.
