Todd,

I can't believe nobody else answered your question. I thought someone else would. Maybe that's what everybody else thought too. Sorry you had to wait.

The ASCII export from QP is fairly easy. Make a folder somewhere on your hard drive, any name will do. Run Scan Database in QP and check "Output all symbols". This will make a list of all the securities available from QP. Copy this list file to your new folder{should find it in your QP folder named "Symbols.lst"}. Then run the ASCII export feature of QP and set up the list and folder for automatic export. Don't forgot to put in the CSV file format: DOHLCV with the date format being YYMMDD. After you do this, the next time you download from QP, the program will automatically export all the data files to that folder. Then just run WOW and import those files.

The WOW security index can become a problem. I suggest you save your current security index file elsewhere, just in case you have to bring it back. After you import the files the first time, have WOW write a new security index. I believe you will have to delete every old WOW data file from each alphabetical folder before you import the first time, or you may have problems with WOW making duplicates and end up with duplicate entries on the security list. Make sure that you leave your empty A to Z folders in Datanew.

Once it's set up, getting QP data into WOW is fairly easy. The most time consuming part is waiting for WOW to finish importing. With the 350 Pentium in my computer it takes WOW about 20 to 30 minutes to import 11000 stocks.
