re: the snow storm.

tuesday through thursday were canceled and a weekend make-up plan has been announced. ironically, now that classes are back in session, it's harder to walk on the sidewalks than it ever was last week, now that the snow padding the two inches of ice is gone.

the new provost, peter lange, has had a rough first year. in september, classes were canceled for the day of the arrival of The Hurricane...I can't remember which...the one that went up the coast then did a U-turn straight back into the Triangle. The next day was 76, completely clear skies, slight breeze.

the grass is still covered with snow. i hope it melts before the tenting season begins in a little over a week.

durham public schools are still postponed.
