Ian:

"Given that SVGI bought 5% of CYMI's lasers sold last quarter...just what do you think SVGI is planning to do with those lasers?"

Good question Ian. God only knows what goes on inside SVGI. SVGI has produced only one product so far that uses a laser light source, and that is the Micrascan III. As Papken stated in their last conference call, the majority of their orders/shipments were for the QML product. As for the high-NA platform, according to SVGI's last conference call they plan to ship exactly one of those this year, the rest are not due till 2001. Are they really buying lasers so far ahead of time? Anyway, not all CYMI lasers are used for production anyway, many are used for testing, calibration ect....since Papken did note that the new high-NA platform when it comes out in Q4 will be able to use KrF, ArF and F2 light sources one presumes (hopes?) that they are doing quite a bit of that.
