It's free to start your own thread on SI, rather than spend thousands and thousands and thousands on computers and chat software, and then have people police the threads and fix computer / software bugs. I wish the other chat sites luck, they will need all the luck they can get. Many will fail. Starting a chat site is a BIG project.
