General comment for all the Fuddsters in our midst!

Fram AMDzone.com:

"JC has some inside info from a source at AMD about what speed AMD could be pumping out Athlons at. Here's the juice:

"Fab 25 could ship 1 GHZ parts at any time the marketing department wants to introduce them (note, these are not Cu, but Al interconnects!). Currently there is no incentive for AMD to do this because Intel is falling all over themselves trying (and failing) to meet 800 MHZ demand".

Comment (1): "Currently there is no incentive for AMD to do this because Intel is falling all over themselves trying (and failing) to meet 800 MHZ demand".

Comment (2): The more obvious it becomes that Intel is falling further behind in the MHz race, the greater the frequency of Intel promises of "some pie-in-the-sky" "some-time-in-the-future" "world beating processor" that they have on the drawing board! Seems to me they need to resolve their "here-and-now" PWeeIII production difficulties before anyone can take them too seriously about yet other "some-time-in-the-future" promises...

Comment (3): Hey, Intel has had a great run as microprocessor king. Enjoy the rewards that have come with that run. That run has ended. The Intel "whipping boys" on this thread are starting to sound "worn and fatigued" not unlike their "flagship PWeeIII" in citing the past Intel victories! Hey guys, there was a time when Intel was the unchallenged king of the microprocessor...That was then...This is now! Ushering in the 21st century is the new king of the microprocessors, the Athlon! Get used to it!
