Wow. And ouch. Though since Motorola was the original Telsim contractor, there wasn't a lot to be done about that expansion. It does underline the prodigous GSM spending in Turkey right now; Ericsson's recent expansion deals for Turkcell are also topping a billion dollars. The subscriber growth seems unstoppable right now - we're looking at 30 million wireless Turks in a couple of years.

The new Turkish GSM network projects are going to be total hotties. So since Ericsson and Motorola already are contractors for the incumbents... Nokia might land even two out of the three start-ups. They'll probably go directly to GPRS, since they're competing mainly for the urban consumers.
