HSA to Manage Sales, Installation & Customer Service Functions
COLUMBUS, Ohio and DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 2000-- Insight Communications (Nasdaq: ICCI), which serves approximately 85,000 customers in the Columbus area, has selected High Speed Access Corp. (HSA) to support its delivery of Road Runner Internet services to area residents. The strategic relationship calls for HSA to provide sales, installation, provisioning, local content and tier one customer care for Insight's broadband Internet customers.
"This is the absolute best combination of resources for meeting the broadband Internet needs of our Central Ohio customers," stated Gregg Graff, Insight's Senior Vice President and General manager for Columbus. "Road Runner Columbus has established a powerful brand presence in the local market. In addition, HSA is developing the industry's highest standards for quality of service. Our customers will be well served by this blending of the best in content, connectivity and customer service."
HSA employees, operating under the Road Runner brand, will coordinate sales marketing, installation, modem purchasing and provisioning and tier one customer care services on Insight's behalf. HSA's sales and customer care personnel will integrate billing for Internet service with Insight's billing system, resulting in one monthly statement for Insight's customers. HSA will also be responsible for the development of local web content and local web advertising sales, coordinating them with Road Runner and Insight. As previously announced, Road Runner will oversee the local and national network connectivity linking Insight's customers to the Internet and the World Wide Web. In addition, Road Runner provides national content and online applications, such as e-mail resources, as well as tier two customer service, including an online Help Desk.
"This relationship signifies the extension of HSA's expertise from the exurban market, where we often play a full service, turnkey role, to larger markets, where our services can complement the resources and ISP relationships of our local cable partners," stated Dan O'Brien, President & COO of High Speed Access Corp. "We're also very pleased to engage in the first market deployment with Road Runner. In addition to giving Insight's customers highly valued and customized content, it illustrates one of the options available to ISPs for working together on the same local broadband network."
