To All:
This will be my last post (he says to cheers and jeers <g>). I have taken too much of your time and wasted enough bandwidth already. As I have said, I never intended to cause this much of a stir. I think relevant discussions of the issues are important for any investment, and this one should be no exception. I make no claim to being a Fibre Channel expert anymore, and I certainly am not an investing expert. <g>
There are a few items that I would like to clarify regarding the KeyLabs tests. Do I think they were fair overall? No. Do I think that Ancor (and Vixel) engineers should have been present in addition to the Brocade people. Certainly! Could some problems detected in the MKII and Vixel switches been corrected with configuration changes or firmware updates. Probably. The KeyLabs tests are simply one small piece of the puzzle. Because I am a technical type by nature, I tend to focus on technical things.
To be fair to Ancor, I have NOT talked to Cal or anybody else at the company regarding any of my questions. Many (if not most) of my concerns could undoubtedly be answered to my satisfaction. The Sun deal itself (along with MTIC and Hitachi) tell me that things are improving. The reason I began posting at all is that it appeared that NOBODY was asking these questions. (Or at least the answers weren't making their way through all the noise.)
To be fair to Brocade,... On second thought, I guess we really don't have to be fair to them. <g> (I haven't talked to them either.)
I would like to thank those of you who welcomed me back for a short time. I truly enjoy the debate, even though it might appear at times as if I am on the other side. (I'm not.) Playing devil's advocate is not all bad, as it keeps people on their toes. This market moves fast, and Ancor needs to keep on top of it. All of my criticisms were meant in a constructive way. Take them that way.
To Ken R., Larry N., and probably a few others, I'll try not to let the door hit me on my way out. <g>
Craig
P.S. From the looks of the chart, ANCR has gone up since I started posting. Maybe I should stick around. <just kidding> As I have already stated, ANCR is well beyond being affected by a single individual, no matter who he is. (And that is a good thing.) |
