The latest runup in the price relates to a number of analyst reports, the quality of the property and the management team which includes Catherine McLeod-Seltzer and David Lowell who combined to sell Arequipa for 1.1 billion to Barrick in 1996. Message 12591589 Message 12636162 northernminer.com The share price peaked of late when this Jan 28, 2000 article came out in the Financial Post nationalpost.com The article mentions "Institutional investors have snapped up about 20% of Pacific Rim's 20.5 million outstanding shares. Analysts believe senior gold companies have done some buying too. " High volume buying in the month of January along with the article caused the share price to peak but as no drilling has as yet occured on the prospect it appears to now be bottoming out. Volume has dropped and it should soon hit its support level after which it should begin to rise as further information is diseminated. Next news release will be in mid-Feb ... drilling is expected in the spring (May?) dependant on road construction. Be aware, this is a high risk/ high gain play. If preliminary drill results are not good it'll drop and fast ... but the reverse is also true. Good investing, Qd
