Why one famous Internet fund manager eschews Softbank.

As you know, I used to run The Internet Fund Fan Club:

And you may know that I totally blasted all internet fund managers late this summer for failing to buy Softbank. I was always perplexed about why Ryan Jacob stayed away Softbank despite having CMGI as his perennial #1 stock. I didn't notice this old chat transcript of The Internet Fund's manager from September:

---
mfmag.com
Q: Any thoughts on the Japanese company 'Softbank?'

Ryan Jacob : Softbank is an interesting company because of its wide assortment of Internet
investments, but I would be reluctant to invest in the company given the lack of liquidity in the stock.
---

What? I guess it's a good thing 'liquidity' didn't concern the top performing fund in history (NGTIX), which has Softbank as its top holding. And the top 10 funds include several Warburg Pincus funds with Softbank as a top holding.
