Regarding WebVan/Borders Partnership (speculation at this point)

Further evidence points to BGP as the bookstore most likely to be picked by WBVN as a partner. It appears that Louis Borders helped found WebVan.

Reference the following news article excerpt:

Seemingly overnight, Webvan -- which raised $375 million in its initial public offering of stock last fall -- has become the standard-bearer for the movement. (Softbank, a major investor in ZDNet, is one of Webvan's financial backers.) To date, it has demonstrated seemingly unlimited access to capital and top-flight executive pedigree, as demonstrated by the hiring of Shaheen. Yet its founder is Louis Borders, whose Borders (NYSE:BGP) bookstores have shown little capacity for fighting off either famous Internet bookselling start-up Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) or leading brick-and-mortar rival Barnes and Noble (NYSE:BKS).
