reseller...

"enjoyed" the war stories,
and i can also appreciate the B2B initiatives
providing welcome shelter from inevitable consumer storms.

as to the direct box makers,
i had a MICRON transport [?] delivered a couple of years ago.
notwithstanding my 24hr replacement option, it went straight back because of a DOA modem. i was unwilling to start out with systemic
ills after a long & involved history of problems with a TOSHIBA tecra.

i had always had a TOSHIBA laptop.

anyway,
i finally came to the conclusion IBM was the preferred option...
however, before i actually picked one up, the SONY vaio came out.

since then, i have lived with a vaio happily ever after.

[i remain convinced SONY, and possibly IBM, are the most consumer
friendly laptops around...TOSHIBA has since made improvements, but
now someone would have to physically pry me from a vaio.]

your "consumer" points are very well taken.

and...Those that envision a takeover by the .coms and the ruin of traditional channels have a rude awakening in store.

[50% of wholesale...yikes.]

i will take your word for that...~g~

regards,

flick
