Bank One to sell UK credit card unit-FT
LONDON, Feb 4 (Reuters) - U.S.-based Bank One Corp, the world's largest credit card issuer, is in final negotiations to sell its UK credit card business to Morgan Stanley Dean Witter (NYSE:MWD - news), the Financial Times reported on Friday.

The FT said Bank One is selling the unit as part of an attempt to stem losses at its First USA card operation, which lost 16 percent of its customers last year.

The newspaper said if the deal were successful, it would be a coup for Morgan Stanley, which is aggressively expanding the UK card business it set up last year.

Bank One's UK card operations currently have 200 staff and a call centre in Cardiff, Wales.
