In the spirit of this new thread, I'm wondering if we could break down the gold and silver mining industries into a few categories as a reference guide to investing in this sector? Listing the Gorillas and Kings, then breaking out the secondary and third levels of companies to invest in. I wonder if we couldn't start some discussion on the NEMs and ABXs of the gold industry as a starting point and work our way down the market cap ladder and then (or simultaneously) do the same for the silver companies? As someone who is relatively new to the industry, I would like to request that those of you who have numerous years of experience act as guides for us 'newbies'. TIA, Michael
