Well, I'll look at it on the bright side and say that they did a penny better than expectations (or, better yet, 50% better than expectations). The interesting thing is that if you divide their earnings by the number of diluted shares, you get something like 2.3, which mysteriously rounds up to 3 cents. Then again, when you have 500+ million shares, there is a big difference for each penny of earnings. . .We'll see what happens tomorrow.

It looks like 7-Eleven really has it together as of late, and their Japanese counter-parts are an example of things to come. After hearing so many people complain about holding this stock for five years with no gains, I feel very lucky to have gotten an 80% return in a few months (and on a much-safer-than-internet investment).
