Jadoonet.com Limited today launched their first offering in Internet appliances - Jadoonet Classic, aimed at providing mass internet access in homes across India. The superior product with its stylish, compact design and array of advanced, user-friendly features make it a must-have in every home.

Jadoonet Classic has a sleek compact design with plug and play functions. Its technically advanced features deliver high-resolution images and superior quality sound at 44.1kHz, 16-bit stereo audio output for CD-quality sound. Surfing the World Wide Web is as easy as tuning in to a regular television show. The prerequisites of the set top box are a TV and a telephone line. It sits on the television and provides access to features like e-mailing, shopping, banking, news, sports weather reports and more, from the comfort of a home.
Among other exciting features, it offers a special e-mailing facility with five IDs, one for each family member. It has a fast 56K-v90 modem with advanced data compression that ensures quick net access and fast downloads. It has a 32-bit RISC processor with 8 MB of DRAM for email and a printer interface. The set top box comes with a wireless keyboard, which has a range of 21 feet.
Finally, the most important "added-value" feature of Jadoonet is the "smart card" option, which turns the unit into a one-to-one secure home terminal for electronic commerce. The smart card automatically pre-configures the unit, acts as a security filter and can be used as a "frequent buyer" card for retailers, providing strong security-related elements during its use. It also offers users, the chance to buy and bank directly at home in complete security over the Internet. All these unique features ensure enhanced net usage.
Jadoonet's Internet appliance will be manufactured at Salora's plant in Delhi. Jadoonet has a technology transfer agreement with Web-2U Ltd UK. Web-2U is a world leader in Internet technology and has recently launched this product in the European subcontinent. To ensure long-term commitments in the project, Jadoonet.com Ltd. has offered Web-2U Ltd. an option of purchasing equity in the company.
Attractively priced at Rs. 4900/- plus taxes, Jadoonet Classic Internet appliance comes with 25 hours of free net access. Available at all television outlets, mobile phone sales outlets and ISP agents, Jadoonet Classic comes with a twelve-month carry in warranty.
