Manugistics and Siebel Systems Form Strategic Alliance For eBusiness Solutions; Integrated Solution Will Enable Improved Customer Service, Fulfillment and Profitability
ROCKVILLE, Md. and SAN MATEO, Calif., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Manugistics Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANU), the leading provider of eBusiness solutions that enable intelligent decisions across trading networks, and Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEBL), the world's leading provider of eBusiness applications software, today announced a strategic alliance to deliver real-time integration of multiple customer inputs, with demand planning and replenishment, for new eBusiness solutions.
Under the alliance, Manugistics' intelligent solutions for eBusiness trading networks will be united with Siebel Systems' integrated family of eBusiness application software to field robust solutions that harness the power of eCommerce for the extended front and back office and the extended trading community. The two companies will also leverage strengths in key vertical markets and will jointly sell and market these solutions globally.
The combined solution will enable joint customers to improve customer service, fulfillment and profitability through the aggregation and intelligent optimization of dynamic demand signals across multiple customer touch points, including direct sales, handheld devices, call centers and the Web.
Customers of these robust solutions will now be able to use demand and replenishment data, collected through customer interactions tracked in Siebel eBusiness Applications, to dynamically update Manugistics NetWORKS Demand(TM) and NetWORKS Fulfillment(TM) solutions. Additionally, real-time inventory visibility and availability data from Manugistics NetWORKS Commit(TM) will be accessible to Siebel Call Center and Siebel eSales users when placing orders. Finally, marketing campaigns designed, executed and tracked in Siebel Marketing will appear as causal events in Manugistics NetWORKS Demand.
"Manugistics' demand planning and replenishment capabilities are complementary to Siebel Systems' proven sales, marketing and customer service eBusiness solutions," said Paul Wahl, president and chief operating officer of Siebel Systems. "We expect this strategic alliance to deliver unique, differentiated solutions to our mutual customers, which include leading Fortune 500 companies."
"The integration of Siebel Systems' and Manugistics' leading eBusiness solutions can provide a new level of value to companies," said Greg Owens, Manugistics' president and CEO.
