Claude, this IPM poker game we are playing is a tough call. The key player here is Behre Dolbear and the assumptions we are making based on its involvement.

We know they have been around a very long time and that they have a good reputation. We know they have a reputation of being very conservative. We know the big chief at BD is overseeing the IPM account. And, we know that one former member of BD, Dr. Shaw, has joined IPM.

But, just exactly in what way are they conservative? Are they conservative in the sense that they don't _normally_ get involved in controversial projects that have a higher rate of failure or just in the work they perform and the results they publish?

Should we conclude that the CEO's overseeing of the IPM account be an indicator of the likely success of IPM or just that he recognize's the potential disaster to BD's reputation should any mistakes be made?

Also, can we conclude that Dr. Shaw is supremely confident of IPM's success or, at his age, he seeks something more adventurous to go out on and IPM fits the bill?

What we do know is that Behre Dolbear was involved with IPM when they had a big failure in the past with the 450 ton bulk sample on June, 1996. This is what the Northern Miner is hanging its hat on. They imply that IPM has talked it up before and failed so why should we take them seriously now?

P.S. - is everything still possible in the Bre-X situation or are you leaning in any one particular direction?
