John, that is true. there are a few mines that produce primarily silver, but most silver is a by-product of gold and/or copper mining.
that's the reason why so few pure silver plays are available for investment. the only ones i can think of off the cuff are PAAS and HL and HL is not a 'pure' silver play either.
