Hi Dave,

An IP address is difficult to define (pretty technical,) but basically it is a numerical representation a location of a computer on the Internet. The IP address your ISP is looking for is somewhat difficult to obtain, so instead please tell them the name of the server you connect to in QCharts. For example, right now I'm connected to mtnview-r02.quote.com .

If you are feeling adventurous you could test your path between your computer and our servers by using a tracing program. We suggest using a program like Ping Plotter that traces where the problem exists. You can download Ping Plotter from nessoft.com . What you want to look for is the first instance of continuously poor "ping" time, or packet loss (abbreviated as PL% in Ping Plotter.) This will typically be the cause of your problem, and a back-up ISP that uses a different backbone than your existing ISP is a good solution.

If no excessive delays or packet loss is found, than it is possible that the Continuum server you are connected to is having problems. Within QCharts, you can press Ctrl-Alt-N to manually switch servers. An alternative to this is to close do your software package and reopen it to obtain the fastest Continuum server at that moment.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let me know.

Thanks,
